My second group meeting went well. We talked about portion versus serving sizes and what we should be taking in. I was amazed. My protein portion should only be about 3 ounces! I triple that in one visit to Outback! The smaller portions are going to take some getting used to, especially when going out to eat. One suggestion our dietician had was to ask for a "to go" box when the plate is brought out and immediately put half of the meal in that box. Another was to put the fork down after each bite. This prevents overeating. Good tips that I will have to try out when I venture back into the world of eating out.
I had my week 12 screening visit today. I am down another four pounds. This made me very happy. It was a surprise too. I told the girl doing my screening that I felt like I was starting to plateau since I started adding vegetables back into my diet. To see that I actually am still losing made me very happy. I am going to have to start increasing my activity though. She said I will start seeing a plateau if I don't increase my exercise.
UPDATE!!! About an hour or so after I posted this I got an email from the dietician. I can now add fruit to the diet! Whoop Whoop! I am so excited! This day just got better!!!
